Psychevanhetfolk reviews "CIII: Even Celestina Gets The Blues" by 17 Pygmies

Psychevanhetfolk, a webzine in Belgium,  reviews "CIII: Even Celestina Gets The Blues" by 17 Pygmies and adds tracks to their radio shows.

Trakwerx Rec.   17 Pygmies : Book of Celestina part III (US,2012)***'

17 Pygmies changed their style a bit. Their hand crafted artwork vision remains. This is packed and hand assembled carefully.  Included is part 3 of a novel of which I assume hangs together with the music. The story is inspired by the 15th century Latin novel La Celestina, but became in fact a science fiction related story with the previous dark love story, a fantasy which does not reveal itself too well in the musical setting but which sounds more like a cloudy and darker late 80s styled electro-pop item with slow and moody progressions making use of Christmas-alike glockenspiel, drums, guitar and layers of keyboards including electronics. Just one small waltz (track 8) gives more attention to the acoustic guitars and violin. There’s a female singer mostly which got keyboard-alike vocal overdub harmonies. There’s an alt/indie-pendant atmosphere which listens nicely but keeps it all very vague.
