Una carriera laterale e nascosta, quella del duo londinese formato da Erik Stein e Jon Boux, entrambi piano e voce ritmica, che pubblicano per la piccola Trakwerx dell’ex Savage Republic Jackson Del Rey; e curioso infatti che escano per un’etichetta cosi lontana quando la loro accentuate ‘inglesita’ ne portrebbe fare un vero “culto con un nome” nella patria d’origine. Le loro sono canzoni fragili, schletriche e semplicissime, attraversate da umori umbratili e malinconici, tutte basate su batteria, pianoforte classicheggiante e voci da crooner a mezzo tra Pet Shop Boys e Coldplay. Non conta tanto la forma strutturale dei pezzi, certamenta di facile ascolto ma in realta mai tanto pop da poterli pensare come radiofonici, quanto il quadro che riescono a disegnare, il mood estremamente intimista e rilassato, a tratti estremamente intimista e rilassato, a tratti vagamente drammatico (The Way You’re Looking At Me) ma mai enfatico o sopra le right. Stavolta le canzoni sono indovinate molto piu di quanto accadeva nei dischi precedenti; potrebbe bastare pop per far venire la coppia alla luce del sole. (7) Stefano I. Bianchi

A career and hidden side, the duo formed by London and Jon Erik Stein Boux, both rhythmic piano and voice, who publish the small former Savage Republic Trakwerx Jackson Del Rey, and curious fact that so far come out for a label accentuated when their 'Englishness' portrebbe will make a true "cult with a name" in the homeland. Their songs are fragile, and very simple schletriche, crossed by shadowy and melancholy moods, all based on drums, classical piano and voices of crooners in the middle between the Pet Shop Boys and Coldplay. It does not matter so much the structural form of the pieces, certamenta easy listening, but never so in reality they can be thought of as pop radio, because they can draw the picture, the mood relaxed and very intimate, very intimate and relaxed at times, sometimes vaguely drama (the Way You're Looking At Me) but never bombastic or over the right.
